Finally, It's About The Food

Congratulations to Chef Ilan.

You both did an outstanding job.

Our best wishes to Chef Marcel.

Ilan's last course looked really good. FYI if anybody is wondering whether the editing was extra nice to Marcel, watch his interview with Ilan and Andy Cohen from Bravo. If Marcel was 1/10th as annoying during the show as he is in that video, I completely understand why they all wanted to throttle him by day 3. I got the biggest headache just watching and listening to him...and I didn't even have to interact with the guy.

In the long run Marcel got what he deserved. There is no doubt in my mind that the producers brought back the former chefs to zap Marcel. There wasn't a person there who really liked him and when it comes down to the end, they didn't really work to make him win. Come on, do you really think Sam was going to make Marcel win over Ilan? No!

The lesson is. "don't shit where you eat".

Regarding Marcel's comportment on Raggaydy Andy Cohen's webcast, I agree everyone should watch it. More entertaining than the show.

To say that it was indicative of his normal behavior would be a real stretch though.

He was clearly drunk.

Marcel the better person then Ilan, the show tells us, you can cry, you can bully and you win for these actions.I am not watching Top Chef anymore, they made the drama at someone expence,Marcel. Finally Marcel can tell his side and ILan you stink!

Not happy that Ilan won, he wasn't the best chef at all, and to boot not a nice person, sorry the food again all spanish boring! You lost another viewer Bravo, for the edits and games you played on Marcel and us. Marcel was great, and deserved the win. Ilan you need some help with your attitude, or your never make it as a good chef, and learn to cook something else please! tim

All they need to do is give the Chefs that help the winner $10,000 each. It would give everyone pause about throwing the match.

This makes 2 years in a row that the winner was determined by the extra chefs screwing the least liked Chef!

Harold and Ilan may have been the best, but they never got a chance to prove it!

Seriously..has anyone watched the Andy Cohen interview on Bravo with Ilan and Marcel. The first comment is right, that dude is annoying as hell. Muttering things under his breath, trying his hardest to use big words that he doesn't know the meaning of, and constantly saying "I'm not gonna lie." You shouldn't brag about not lying, you should just not lie.

Overall, that was the first peak at Marcel that wasnt editted, and it did not go favorably for him.

Not to say he deserved to be physically touched, but I'd have made fun of him too.

As someone upthread mentioned, Marcel was drunk in the interview, so it's not representative of how he behaved during the competition. Shit, I'd be plowed if I had to sit in the same room for hours with a guy who filmed me being assaulted with nothing short of glee. (They were contractually oblibated to watch the show together with the Blahvo peeps).

Hey Ilan, grow the fuck up and concentrate on your own career.

From what I hear, Marcel's got offers rolling in from New York to France to SPAIN.

I wonder who is going to buy Ilan's Krapmore kitchen so he can pay the taxes on his hundred grand?

Read Andy blog, he said, Marcel was not drunk but bone tired, and nervous, hey I would of gotten drunk to sit next to that creep Ilan, nothing but a jerk and Marcel good for you, finally getting a chance to tell your side, and if you came off cocky you deserved too, how did they treat you, not good at all, so why should you treat them nicely. Betty, Elia, Sam, Frank and Ilan you are not nice people and on tv we all saw how you acted and behaved, like bullies, and so now your getting what you reaped, Ilan your not a top chef if your actions, and knocking Harold, wow that makes you crap in my book, Harold out cook you any day of the week and has respect for others, hope your proud of yourself because no one else is but your fellow bullies, and I'm glad I don't have friends like that. Marcel you will go places and be so much more then these bullies, keep up the good work and were watch for good things from you, someone said they put up $100 and I will do the same, you deserve your own restaurant then Ilan ever did. If anyone gets a fund together I'm in. No kidding. It was on Tom's blog. Everyone there thinks Ilan didn't deserve to win. karen

I would've felt far better if Sam had won over Marcel. At least Sam was creative and had the ability to step outside his own comfort zone. Plus - he had more 'soul' (the alledged vital ingredient to great cooking) than Ilan did, imo.

On that note, whenever I hear them - or anyone - say Marcel has no real passion or 'soul' for his food, I want to laugh. The guy clearly loves - and knows - what he does, even if what he does is not mainstream.

All in all, I'm glad the show is over. I'll say congrats to Ilan only because it is the good sport thing to do, but I would rather Marcel had won.
